Purpose

Perform design, coding and testing tasks for both fixing and new developments.
Production and testing of Software Release Packages
Other tasks as directed by line or Project Manager

Accountabilities

Perform Specification, Design, Coding, Testing, Documentation and Packaging in the areas of Development and Maintenance

•  Ownership of all software and non-software deliverables
•  Liaising with Business Analysts and/or customers to ensure that requirements are clearly defined and are understood
•  Production of accurate, unambiguous technical design specification to the required level of detail
•  Production, preparation and execution of Test Plans as required
•  Production of supporting documentation, both internal and external facing
•  Achievement of agreed productivity targets in order to ensure developments are delivered within budget and to hedule
•  Delivery of all necessary software and non-software components to the appropriate delivery channel
•  Works with a normal level of supervision of Project and/or Line Manager

Quality and adherence to Standards

•  Ensure all work is reviewed to the relevant development standards
•  Peer review and sign-off of others work
•  Timely and accurate reporting of project status as required by Line or Project Manager
•  Production and revision of accurate detailed estimates
•  Escalate product issues and suggest product improvements
•  Escalate all issues in a timely fashion

Skills Required

• Skills: Java, J2EE, SQL, XML/XSL, JavaScript, DHTML, Ajax
•  Experience: minimum 3 years with J2EE, including at least one year with advanced DHTML techniques.
•  Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc Computer Science (Bac+5 / Grandes Ecoles)

Academic and Professional Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with a major in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, MIS or any related courses.  Competence certifications is related technologies where applicable.

Preferred Experience
2-4 years experience in the relevant technology platforms, experience of working in a structure Quality Management environment, i.e. ISO9001 or equivalent.   Good working knowledge of the relevant Misys product pr banking would be an advantage.

Travel Requirements
Occasional Travel to customer's sites or other Misys offices including short trips abroad

Working Arrangements
Working outside normal business hours and overtime may be required to meet project deadlines and customer's working practices.
