Purpose:
Testing: Develop test cases and test packs that meet the functional specifications of developments carried out within the Dev team. Also, increase scope of testing for functionality already built. Execute tests and reports metrics that help make informed decisions on the quality of the product. Build / augment automated test frameworks for application regression testing.
Other Responsibilities of this role
Formulate and compile the Trade Portal documentation set and maintain the languages support of Trade Portal, namely French, English and German. Assist with the implementation of new product releases and perform knowledge transfer to the consultancy department.
Responsibilities
§ Assure product quality through the development of right test design and executing the same
§ On time execution of tests as per plan
§ Executing different types of testing like functionality testing, usability testing, scenario based testing, role based testing, regression testing etc.
§ Ensure the test design is traceable to requirement and achieve high level of requirement and test execution coverage
§ Write clear, precise, unambiguous defect reports that developers can understand
§ Report test through metrics that will help make product release decision
§ Help in continuously improving test scripts (test cases) and test coverage
§ Own quality in the area specified
§ Maintain the product documentation set, keeping it in line with new features and product releases.
Requirements
- Graduate of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business, Management Engineering or related courses.
- Banking Domain knowledge, preferably Trade Services (along with problem solving and analytical skills)
- Understanding of the changes happening to Banking industry where Misys has sizeable market share
- Understanding of the test processes in relation to development process
- Technical skills (J2EE testing experience)

Preferred Experience
- At least 3 yrs (or solid demonstrable experience) of system testing experience of J2EE applications
- Has worked in a bank or financial software vendor for a minimum period of 3 yrs or have acquired these skills through other means
- Hands on experience with tools like Test Director, Mercury Quality Centre, Win runner, Load runner etc
- Hands on experience of more technical testing frameworks / tools like JUnit and Emma
- Strong product company background
- Experienced on ISO 9001, CMM/CMMi, Six Sigma and other quality model will be preferred
- Experience of testing methodologies gained in a development team.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies and tools Direct involvement with ISO 9001:2000 and/or CMM (or equivalent) program development, preparation and enforcement of procedures.
- Demonstrable experience writing product documentation.
- Travel requirements: As and when required for assisting with new product release implementations/upgrades. Travel will typically be around 5 times a year for 1-2 week durations
