Purpose:
Define and specify the style, structure, capabilities and components used within Misys' software solutions to meet Misys' and customers' requirements. Mentor design and develop teams to ensure effective knowledge and skills transfer.
Accountabilities:
- Able to lead teams in determining the style, structure, capabilities and components necessary for building software applications and interfaces
- Architecture & design - ensure the integrity of proposed technical solutions, and that the solutions can be built, implemented and maintained within timescales/budgets
- Technical Design Authority - oversee benchmarking, installation, upgrade, configuration, deployment, testing activity, capacity planning and performance strategy
- Improving quality - Investigate and document where appropriate innovative approaches to improve software quality
- Use knowledge of industry changes in technology standards, information management, development standards, methods and emerging 3rd party software in order to advise on technology and leverage industry best practice in the design and construction of Misys' software products.
Able to provide day-day technical control of implementation projects
- Assist programme Manager in planning/monitoring progress against schedule
- Provide support/mentoring of individuals
- Perform detailed technical reviews to ensure overall design is being implemented
Effectively support Sales and Sales Consulting and facilitate winning quality new business through:
- Explaining the architecture and design of Misys' software products to customers
- Effectively articulating and presenting the benefits and technical advantages of Misys' solutions to technical and non-technical customer and Misys staff
- Providing high level Assessments for proposed solutions
Provide input into the technology direction and phased transition of Misys' software products from "current state" to "future state"
- In concert with other Architects within Misys create a centre of expertise and forum for common component design, reuse and exploitation
Provide input in the drive for constantly improving the scalability, extensibility, interoperability, reliability, availability, serviceability and performance of Misys' software products
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Good Bachelors Degree with a major in Computer Science, Mathematics, MIS or any related courses.
Preferred Experience
- Practical experience of designing and building software systems for the financial industry
- Experience in the IT industry
- Demonstrable detailed understanding of architecture principles and methods, technology standards and trends
Travel Requirements
- Able and willing to travel as required by the business demands of the role.
