Role Competencies:

• Specify, order, assemble and install hardware. Install and configure operating system software plus third-arty system rools, database systems, applications and products
• Implement, periodically test and review appropriate data access and security measyres, including access control, audit, backup/restore and system rebuild & recovery processess
• Participate in the process of ensuring that identified Business Continuity measures are identified as requiring such protection in accordance with the corporate Disaster Recovery program.
• Perform software upgrades and new software installation both pro-actively and in response to requests from users of systems, including any necessary patches to operating systems and applications to ensure continuing stable and secure operation
• Provide an ad-hoc support service to users of all computer systems, troubleshooting and resolving system problems
• Carry out prescribed programs of computer system performance management and capacity planning for systems as designated by IT Management to ensure the necessary system capacity and performance is available as required

Experience:

• At least 1 years in a heterogenerous IT operations environment providing support to technical and non-technical internal end-users
• Strong technical skills in key systems technologies, including IBM iSeries, MS Windows NT/2K/XP and data networking
• Exposure to configuration, operation and management of communications technologies including leased line, dial-up, MPLS WAN and Voice-over-Frame or VOIP
• Production of written reports, analyses and procedural documentation 
• May be recurited with minimal experience and trained into this role
