Misys Solutions for Treasury & Capital Markets, a market-leading provider of integrated Trading, Operations, and Enterprise Risk Management software for Fixed Income, Derivatives, Treasury and Commercial Lending businesses, is seeking an experienced Technical Writer with financial background to join our Misys Opics product Documentation team. This role will be responsible for designing and writing online documentation for several modules and implementations, as well as editing and maintaining existing documentation, with an emphasis on customer-focused deployment and operations content.
The successful candidate must develop extensive knowledge of the company's products, processes and customer goals. Must be an abstract and creative thinker, capable of learning and summarizing complex concepts and issues.
Responsibilities:
- Timely and accurate delivery of release notes, online Help and technical manuals for various areas of business functionality.
- Work with development teams and business analysts to document new product functionality and new modules.
- Maintain and enhance existing Opics online help system.
- Collaborate with Product Development and client support departments to develop just-in-time, web-based tutorials to augment user documentation.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated excellence in writing clearly, accurately, concisely and in a manner that is customer focused.
- 3-5 years experience writing end-user, online documentation
- 3-5 years experience (Bank or Software Company) writing for Treasury/Capital Markets.
- Ability to earn credibility with Project Managers and developers of Opics’ products.
- Ability to plan and manage own work balancing multiple projects requiring coordination across a number of teams.
- Experience developing help files/user guides for business audiences.
- Expert using Adobe RoboHTML/Robohelp.
- Ability to create and edit graphics using tools such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.
- Willingness and desire to grow and develop in a fast-paced, exciting, and continuously evolving environment.
- Bachelor's degree/strong minor in English, Computer Science or Finance (or equivalent experience) is strongly preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, self-motivated, detail-oriented and have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with HTML and/or Framemaker a plus.
