Deployment

Misys Summit FT seamlessly fits within a wide variety of IT infrastructures and can be deployed in a multitude of scenarios, for example:
  • Front office trading system for single or multiple business lines
  • Back office system for trading book consolidation
  • Full front to back, multi-asset class solution with automated straight through processing
  • Pricing engine for a web service
In addition to meeting needs of the business user and client developer, we recognise the challenges faced by system administrators. Misys Summit delivers leading-edge functionality in the areas of deployment, configurability, connectivity, scalability, and security.

Platform independence

The adaptability of the Misys Summit cross platform component based architecture directly addresses the fact that no two organisations are alike. Misys Summit gives you the flexibility to choose the technology to fit your IT infrastructure. Choose from Unix or Windows platforms combined with either Oracle, Sybase or MS SQL Server databases.

Zero-touch deployment

Thin and Rich – the best of both worlds

Misys Summit FT gives IT departments the power to deploy information and software upgrades quickly to global users with minimal cost or disruption.

The Misys Summit desktop is a thin-client application that behaves like a rich desktop application. It is easily deployed with one click via a web browser and can operate over local intranet, WAN or VPN. This eliminates the need to commit valuable IT resources for local software installations or upgrades.

Multi-level security

Despite giving more control of the desktop to the end-user, Misys Summit FT's extensive role-based security gives comfort to the organisation by ensuring that security is not compromised. For example:

  • Business or technical user – Complete insulation of the infrastructure (e.g. database) from the business user
  • Business function – Who can enter an OTC deal? Who can issue a payment?
  • Business role – Correlate system access to match an individual's or group's responsibilities
In addition, a complete audit trail is maintained to answer the question "who did what, when and why".
