The Misys Summit distributed architecture enables financial institutions to face the challenges of today and those of tomorrow. As your business grows, Misys Summit's ability to handle larger volumes and greater number of users means that you can easily take on additional workload and leverage capacity. Rather than having monolithic servers, Misys Summit uses a distributed environment. This means that instead of being forced to effect performance improvements by replacing server boxes with even bigger, more expensive ones, we have more options.

The diagram above shows some examples:
- Users can start with multiple services on a small number of servers, and then split these out onto multiple boxes as volumes increase
- For more CPU-intensive jobs (e.g. Monte Carlo simulations), Misys Summit's Parallel Distributed Processing (PDP) allows as many machines as needed to be made available to the processes
This gives us unlimited scalability, with minimal additional cost to our clients.
