Benchmarking tests on Microsoft platform show enhanced performance for customers using the new .Net solution
NEW YORK, June 20, 2006 - Misys Banking Systems, a global leader in banking software and solutions, is demonstrating the new .NET powered Misys Opics Plus at Microsoft's booth #2211 at SIA 2006. Misys Opics Plus is the next-generation of market-leading Misys Opics, designed to offer users the ability to process a wide range of cross-asset financial instruments seamlessly from front office to the back.
Via a single platform, it handles vanilla and complex derivatives, fixed income, and equity and treasury trades. Customers will benefit from significantly enhanced performance, with a new tiered architecture allowing organisations to run tasks in parallel. It also ensures full scalability to meet future volume needs within an open and highly flexible system.
Aligning with Microsoft has provided Misys with access to a wide range of product and application development expertise, and one of the benefits has been significant performance increases. Benchmarking tests conducted at the Microsoft labs in Redmond, Washington demonstrated improved performance scalability and reliability in Misys Opics Plus. One Opics user reported some Opics processes have shown a fourfold improvement, allowing the user to dramatically increase their transaction volumes. The level of these improvements mean customers can not only be confident of meeting demands today but also in the future.
Bill Hartnett, GM of Strategy and Solutions for Microsoft's U.S. Financial Services Group, sees many benefits for Misys Banking Systems in adopting .NET architecture for the system. "Building upon Microsoft's .NET technology provides Misys with an architecture framework for future development. The use of its open-system capabilities and web service standards allows Misys Opics Plus to integrate well with other partners and technologies. Misys Opics Plus customers will see significant benefits in reliability, scalability and enhanced performance."
David Stewart, Opics Product Manager, Misys Banking Systems, is looking forward to a long-term alliance with Microsoft and .NET. "Organisations are rationalising and streamlining their operations in a climate of ever more stringent regulation. The move to Misys Opics Plus and the .NET environment means that our customers can support their businesses growing needs whilst streamlining their operations and reducing their operating costs."
Experts from Misys Banking Systems and Microsoft will be on hand at booth #2211 to talk about Misys Opics Plus and will be able to arrange a demonstration.
