Misys Connection for SWIFT gives the benefits of SWIFT membership without the infrastructure cost
7th August 2006 - Misys Banking Systems, a global leader in banking software and solutions, today announces the launch of Misys Connection for SWIFT, a new bureau service for SWIFT. It enables banks, fund managers and corporates to access the SWIFT network, connecting them to value-added services between counterparties.
The launch of Misys Connection coincides with SWIFT's campaign to extend the range of messaging and file-based services it provides. Misys Connection offers outsourced services for potential and existing SWIFT users without them having to operate and maintain their own SWIFT interface when accessing the network.
Customers no longer need to build and maintain a SWIFT data centre. They can reduce operational risk at the same time as accessing the expertise and infrastructure of Misys Banking Systems to achieve straight-through processing without impacting their existing systems.
Joel Ludvigsen, Director, Partner Solutions, SWIFT, comments, "In order to provide greater access to the SWIFT's financial messaging network and facilitate global standards, we are keen to offer connectivity to SWIFTNet to as many parties as possible. Misys Connection will provide huge scope to a host of organisations in the market who want to capitalise on our industry standards, while leveraging the advantages this service offers to them."
Misys Banking Systems has successfully operated a SWIFT data centre since 1994 and was one of the first members to implement SWIFTNet. Misys is already one of the largest non-banks on the SWIFT network through its Global Managed Services. Users of Misys Connection will benefit from this experience and will see a continual monitoring of message workflow, message conversions and standards upgrades, undertaken by the professional services team at Misys Banking Systems.
Commenting on the launch, Leslie Regino, Product and Marketing Manager, Misys Banking Systems, states, "Misys Connection's modern and scalable architecture helps organisations keep operational costs down and speeds the time to market for their own products. By signing up to this service, companies can concentrate on their core competencies and trust Misys to take care of the challenges around cost, operational risk and compliance."
The services are hosted in facilities with redundancy built into them, which results in an uninterrupted service and smoother business growth. The fully hosted SWIFT service from Misys provides customers with facilities management, operations, security, and administrative services. Additional benefits include technical support, file translation and service level agreements.
