3 December 2007 - Misys plc (FTSE: MSY.L), the global application software and services company, today announced that United Commercial Bank (UCB) has licensed its Equation and Trade Innovation solutions to support its expansion of business in Taiwan.
Both solutions have been installed in its Hong Kong location since 2003, and have supported a period since which has seen rapid growth and business for the bank. UCB concluded to expand the use of both systems to support its Taiwan operation after an extensive evaluation of local and foreign vendors. The resulting solution will improve efficiencies and ensure that the bank increases customer service to its corporate and high net worth customers.
UCB has built a very strong position serving Chinese communities and American companies doing business in Greater China. Equation and Trade Innovation will continue to support this process.
Mr. Tony Tsui, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Greater China Region, United Commercial Bank, comments, "Misys has a proven track record and experience in our region and we are pleased to be able to build on the success we have had from using Misys' solution in our Hong Kong operations. We have built a strong reputation of providing our customers with excellent products and services and we are confident that this will enable us to continue to deliver results to our customers in Taiwan and Hong Kong and as we expand further in the Greater China region."
Dermot Briody, Head of Sales Asia, Misys Banking, adds, "We are continuing to grow our business in Asia as we increase the number of customers that have benefited by implementing our world-class solutions. UCB is the latest in a long list of clients here that we are helping to build their footprint in the region.
