What is MiFID?
The Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) is a regulatory requirement designed to create a single European market in the financial services market space. The ultimate aim is to deliver a single set of standards and operating rules for European financial markets of all instrument types. This regulation will be in place to give customers the best price at the lowest cost, encouraging greater transparency and abolishing all existing monopolies of exchanges.
How is Misys helping clients with their MiFID projects?
MiFID in particular will affect all Misys clients in the treasury and capital markets space, particularly those that trade equities, OTC derivatives and bonds. By interacting with our extensive global network of clients Misys is able to encourage debate on how best to adapt to the regulation within its framework and what steps Misys needs to undertake to ensure its systems also meet the requirements. By working in partnership with compliance industry experts we have been able to produce an initial white paper.
Over the coming months we will be engaging further with clients to help them work through key areas of the regulation and identifying the hot spots that need the most urgent attention - join in the debate through:
- questionnaires
- workshops
This approach will enable Misys' clients to move swiftly towards reaping the benefits of MiFID.
Workshops
Workshops are currently being planned in London and Paris for Misys clients. If you are a client and would like to take part please contact jenny.small@misys.com
